NRB invites bids for Rs 20 billion in government bonds



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has invited bids for government bonds worth Rs 20 billion through an online auction.

According to a public notice issued by the central bank’s Monetary Management Department, the bonds—designated Bond 2027—will be auctioned electronically.

Only banks and financial institutions licensed by the NRB under categories ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’, designated as counterparties, are eligible to participate in the auction.

Eligible bidders must specify both the amount they wish to purchase and the proposed interest rate, which can be quoted up to four decimal places.

The central bank said bids must be submitted in multiples of Rs 50 million, with the minimum bid set at Rs 50 million and the maximum up to the full auction amount of Rs 20 billion.
