KATHMANDU: The European Union has expressed its readiness to deepen cooperation with Nepal by supporting key priority areas of the government, particularly in the education sector.
During a meeting with Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel today, EU Ambassador Veronique Lorenzo said the EU is ready to support the key priorities of Nepal’s new government.
The courtesy meeting, held at the ministry in Singha Durbar, focused on bilateral relations, cooperation in the education sector, and other areas of mutual interest.
On the occasion, Education Minister Pokharel appreciated the EU’s support to Nepal’s school education sector, particularly in ensuring equitable access, improving quality, and strengthening teacher professional development systems.
He also expressed hope for continued cooperation in areas such as inclusive education, infrastructure development, and teacher training and professional development.
Ambassador Lorenzo reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to further strengthening Nepal-EU relations through continued support and collaboration.
