Two more industries begin operations in Hetauda Industrial Area



HETAUDA: The number of industries operating in Hetauda Industrial Area, Makawanpur, has been steadily increasing. Recently, two more industries have commenced operations within the industrial zone.

Ramesh Raj Nepal, Information Officer at the Industrial Area Management Office, stated that Precious Oist Refinery Pvt. Ltd. began trial production in the first week of January. The industry processes old electronic goods to extract and produce new metals, marking what is likely the first operation of its kind in Nepal.

Similarly, Radhakrishna Synthetic Pvt. Ltd. has been fully producing plastic bags since last October. Among previously closed industries, Nepal Brewery is preparing to resume operations under new management, while Tripura Industries plans to establish a new tobacco production unit.

Information Officer Nepal also noted that Roto Printing Industry (specializing in plastic printing) and Noble Packaging have temporarily halted production in recent months due to lack of investment. Currently, 13 industries are under construction within the zone, most of which are in the final stages of completion.

Established on 2020 BS with financial assistance from the US government, Hetauda Industrial Area now hosts 147 industries and establishments operating on leased land.

The industrial zone spans 3,228 ropanis and houses a diverse range of industries including food production, United Brewery, Gorkha Brewery Company, Asian Paints, animal feed industries, and carton manufacturing units.

Additionally, several government institutions operate within the industrial area, including Hetauda Milk Distribution Project, Provincial Food and Quality Control Office, Provincial Seed Company, Provincial Soil Testing Office, Area Police Office, and the Nepal Bank Limited Hetauda Branch.

Of the total land, 2,178 ropanis are leased to industries, 26.52 ropanis remain vacant, and 597 ropanis are used for utility services such as roads, electrification, and sewage disposal. The industrial area currently contains 10 office buildings, 11 warehouses, and 34 other structures, supporting various industrial activities.
