National Assembly to meet today to continue Appropriation Bill deliberations



KATHMANDU: The National Assembly under the Federal Parliament is scheduled to meet today at 12:15 PM at Singha Durbar.

The meeting will continue deliberations on the Appropriation Bill, with concerned ministers responding to questions raised by lawmakers on budget allocations for various ministries and constitutional bodies.

Discussions will cover the budget headings of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Environment, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Defence.

The House will also deliberate on budget allocations for the Office of the President, Office of the Vice President, Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, and the National Planning Commission Secretariat.

During the meeting, the Chairperson of the National Assembly will present expenditure cut motions under various budget headings of the Appropriation Bill, for decision.

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is scheduled to table a proposal seeking the Assembly’s endorsement of the Appropriation Bill, which was received from the House of Representatives.

He will also present proposals to consider the Economic Bill and the Public Debt Raising Bill, both sent by the House of Representatives.
