One killed, two injured in jeep accident in Achham



ACHHAM: One person was killed and two others were injured in a jeep accident at Kamalbazar Municipality-7 in Achham district today.

The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Karna Bhat, a local resident. Seriously injured in the accident, he was rushed to the District Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Khanal.

The jeep (Se 1 613), driven by 26-year-old Pushpa Budha, veered off the road and plunged around 200 metres down a slope.

The injured have been identified as 13-year-old Min Bahadur Bhat, son of the deceased, and 30-year-old Badri Bhat. Both have been referred to the Provincial Hospital in Surkhet for further treatment.

Police have taken the driver into custody and are investigating the incident.
