RSP wins Bhaktapur-1, long-time stronghold of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party



KATHMANDU: Rukesh Ranjit of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been elected from Bhaktapur-1 in the House of Representatives election in Nepal.

Ranjit secured 33,436 votes to defeat Prem Suwal of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, who received 28,147 votes.

Bhaktapur-1 had remained a stronghold of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party since 1991.
