Mahabir Pun elected from Myagdi with over 22,000 votes



KATHMANDU: Independent candidate Mahabir Pun has been elected to the House of Representatives from Myagdi.

According to the Office of the Chief Election Officer, Pun secured 22,850 votes in the House of Representatives election in Nepal.

His closest rival, Harikrishna Shrestha of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist), received 7,919 votes, while Karna Bahadur Bhandari of the Nepali Congress secured 6,884 votes.

Meanwhile, Arjun Thapa of the Nepal Communist Party received 3,529 votes.

A total of 46,215 votes were cast in the district out of 86,397 registered voters, according to election officials.
