UML opens account with Ishtiyaq Rayi’s win in Banke-2

KATHMANDU: Ishtiyaq Rayi of the CPN-UML  has been elected from Banke-2 in the House of Representatives election in Nepal held on March 5.

With Rayi’s victory, the UML has opened its account in the ongoing vote count.

Rayi had joined the UML only last month after leaving the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal. He was formally welcomed into the party by KP Sharma Oli on January 19.

Amid disappointing results for the UML in many constituencies across the country, Rayi’s victory marks the party’s first win in the election.
