Province Chief Miya bats for intergovernmental relations



KAILALI: Sudurpaschim Province Chief Nazir Miya has emphasized the importance of cooperation between local and provincial governments for the overall development of the province.

At a programme organized in Dhangadhi today, the Province Chief said the region possesses potential in water resources, forests and natural beauty, and urged for collective efforts to enhance the province’s development.

Miya pointed out the constitutional delineation of responsibilities among the local, province and federal governments, adding that these roles should be adhered to ensure effective federalism. He called for unity in development efforts, reinforcing the idea that success in governance requires understanding and fulfilling responsibilities.

The programme organized in partnership with the Sudurpaschim Province Research Training Institute, local levels and UNICEF under the theme ‘Best Practices; Communication of Hope,’ showcased successful initiatives from 30 local levels in the province.
