Moderate to heavy rain likely in Kathmandu Valley



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley is likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall today (Wednesday), according to meteorologists.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the sky over the Valley is currently generally cloudy.

There was light rain in the morning, but it has stopped now. However, there is a chance of rain again. Moderate rainfall is likely today in Kathmandu.

According to the Division, the weather in Kathmandu Valley may briefly clear at times before becoming cloudy again, with intermittent spells of rain throughout the day.

According to meteorologists, rainfall is classified based on 24-hour accumulation. Less than 10 millimeters is considered light rain. Rainfall between 10 and 50 millimeters is classified as moderate rain, while 50 to 100 millimeters is considered heavy rain.

Similarly, rainfall between 100 and 200 millimeters is termed very heavy rain, and anything above 200 millimeters within 24 hours is classified as extremely heavy rain.
