Syringe attack in Jhapa leaves one dead



BIRTAMOD: A man has died following a suspected syringe attack in Bhadrapur Municipality–10, Satrabighe, in Jhapa district.

The deceased has been identified as Khem Dhakal, a local resident. According to the District Police Office, Dhakal was attacked by unknown individuals last evening while returning home from a neighbour’s house. He was critically injured and died on the way to the hospital.

Police spokesperson Khagendra Bahadur Khadka said that a 26-year-old man, Dipesh Kumar Singh of Siraha district, has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

Khadka added that the substance used in the syringe has not yet been identified and that further investigation is underway.
