Srijana Thapaliya appointed chief immigration officer at TIA

KATHMANDU: Joint Secretary Srijana Thapaliya has been appointed Chief Immigration Officer at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) following a reshuffle of senior officials by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Ministry transferred 16 joint secretaries on Friday, assigning Thapaliya, who was serving as the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Sankhuwasabha, to the key immigration post at the country’s busiest international gateway.

The position became vacant after former chief immigration officer Narahari Ghimire was appointed Chief District Officer of Lalitpur.

Similarly, Joint Secretary Balaram Niraula has been transferred as chief of the Immigration Office at Gautam Buddha International Airport.

As part of the reshuffle, the ministry has also reassigned Chief District Officers in 13 districts.
