Uber officially launches ride-sharing service in Nepal



KATHMANDU: Uber, the global ride-sharing platform, has officially launched its services in Nepal from today.

The company announced the commencement of operations during a formal event held in Kathmandu on Friday.

The launch event was attended by senior government officials, including the Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and the Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, among others.

With the official rollout, Uber has entered Nepal’s ride-hailing market, expanding its presence in South Asia and offering commuters an additional app-based transportation option.

Company representatives shared details of the service during the event, marking the platform’s formal entry into the Nepali market. Further information regarding operational coverage and service features is expected to be announced in the coming days.
