Six arrested for allegedly trafficking women abroad



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested six individuals on charges of illegally sending women abroad.

According to Sharat Kumar Thapa Chhetri, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, those arrested include Kedar Bahadur Khadka alias Ashish of Sankhuwasabha; Ishwor Neupane of Sindhupalchok; Ram Bahadur Chhetri of Gulmi; and Prakash Sah of Saptari.

Also arrested were Kumar Urau of Morang, and Pashupati Rai of Khotang. The suspects were apprehended on Wednesday and Thursday. Police said Rs 3.18 million in cash was recovered from their possession. Further investigation into the case is underway.
