15 arrested in separate drug-related cases



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested 15 individuals from various parts of the country in separate drug-related incidents during routine operations.

According to the Central Police Newsroom, Bishal Bhandari, a resident of Ward No. 6 of Charikot Municipality in Dolakha, was arrested from Ward No. 10 of Bhaktapur Municipality with 15 tablets of a controlled pharmaceutical drug that can only be obtained with a doctor’s prescription.

Similarly, a teenager from Ward No. 3 of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City in Kailali was arrested with brown heroin from the banks of the Mohana River. In Banke, two individuals were apprehended from Kunda Chowk in Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-6 with brown heroin.

Police also arrested one person from Bas Chowk in Inaruwa Municipality-4, Sunsari, and another from Paterwa in Itahari Sub-metropolitan City-18 with brown heroin and Rs 47,500 in cash.

In separate operations, one person was arrested from Bhokraha Narsingh Rural Municipality-6 in Sunsari, two from Dharan Sub-metropolitan City-17, one from Dudhras in Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City-17 of Dang, two from Birendranagar Municipality-2 in Surkhet, and three from Pachui in Belauri Municipality-8 of Kanchanpur.

Small quantities of brown heroin were recovered from all the suspects. The arrests were made on Wednesday and Thursday, and further investigation is underway.
