Over 3,100 displaced families registered after Kathmandu evictions

KATHMANDU: Government authorities have accelerated data collection of families displaced after the removal of squatter settlements in various parts of Kathmandu, with over 3,100 households registered so far.

According to officials, a total of 3,111 affected families have recorded their details at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor.

The data collection drive is being jointly carried out by the Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee and the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority since April 25.

Separate desks have been set up on the western side of the stadium premises, where families are filling out forms and submitting necessary information.

Authorities have also introduced support services to address the basic needs of displaced people. Health check-ups, food arrangements, and national identity card registration services are being provided within the stadium.

The overall management and coordination of the process is being handled by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
