Peaceful and enthusiastic voting underway in Jhapa



JHAPA: Voting is proceeding peacefully and with enthusiasm in Jhapa, Chief District Officer Shivlal Gelal confirmed Thursday.

A total of 815 polling centers across 285 polling sites in the district are witnessing active voter participation, with all locations maintaining a calm and orderly environment, Gelal added.

So far, notable figures including Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki, Nepali Congress Vice-President Bishwa Prakash Sharma, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chair Rajendra Lingden, former Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire, and former Deputy Speaker Indira Ranamagar have cast their votes.

Chief Election Officer Umesh Luintel reported that about 40 percent of registered voters in the district have voted so far.
