Voters boycott polling at Toksel center in Okhaldhunga

KATHMANDU: All voters at the Toksel polling center in Mane Bhanjyang Rural Municipality-7, Okhaldhunga, boycotted Thursday’s election.

By 12 PM, none of the registered voters at the center had participated in the polling process.

Chief District Officer Mekh Bahadur Mangrati said voters at the center decided not to cast their ballots as their long-standing demand had not been addressed.

Locals have been requesting the construction of a provincial hospital in the area. Although land for the project was provided, the government has yet to initiate construction, prompting voters to collectively abstain from voting.
