Rabi Lamicchhane urges party leaders to stop targeting ousted leaders

KATHMANDU: Chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane has advised party leaders and cadres not to waste time attacking old parties and their leaders.

Saying that the time has come to chart a new course for Nepal, Lamichhane stressed that there is no point in remaining engaged in criticism of former political forces and their supporters.

Addressing the party’s broad political integration programme at the National Assembly Hall on Monday, Lamichhane also urged leaders not to spend time humiliating those who have been ousted from power.

“We are now in different roles and responsibilities. Since we must take responsibility for the country’s future, we should stop ridiculing old parties and their leaders and cadres,” he said, adding that the party must now focus on drawing a new map for Nepal and moving forward on the path of prosperity.

He said the time has come to shape the society the party envisions. “We must move in that direction. Just because we have become strong does not mean we should engage in humiliating those who have been displaced. We must free ourselves from that tendency,” said Lamichhane, who is also a former home minister.
