NC steps up talks with UML, potential partners ahead of National Assembly elections



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress has stepped up internal discussions on forming alliances with other parties, including CPN-UML, for the upcoming National Assembly elections.

On Monday, the party’s Executive Committee met at the Sanepa office to discuss potential coordination with other parties for the NA polls.

Party spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said further discussions will continue in another Executive Committee meeting scheduled for Tuesday. He clarified that while alliance talks are underway for the NA elections, no decisions have been made yet regarding coalition strategies for the upcoming House of Representatives polls.

During the meeting, Acting Party President Purna Bahadur Khadka briefed the committee on ongoing dialogues with other parties for National Assembly coordination.
