RSP to hold grand political realignment announcement today

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is set to hold a grand political realignment announcement assembly today.

Party spokesperson Manish Jha said the announcement event will take place at 1 pm at the Rastriya Sabha Griha in Kathmandu.

Earlier, on December 28 and 29, 2025, RSP had reached a unification agreement with the Ujyalо Nepal Party led by Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah and Kulman Ghising.

In addition, leaders and cadres of the Nagarik Unmukti Party led by Ranjita Shrestha are also set to join RSP through today’s announcement assembly.

According to the party, these leaders and cadres became dissatisfied after Ranjita Shrestha joined the Nepali Communist Party and have now decided to enter RSP.

The party said the realignment is aimed at strengthening its organizational base and expanding its political footprint ahead of upcoming political developments.
