Let’s make a long-term plan for where to take the country in the next 10 years: Baburam Bhattarai

KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has stressed the need to formulate a clear long-term plan now for where Nepal should be taken over the next 10 to 20 years for the country’s development.

Addressing the inaugural session of the Nepali Congress’ 15th General Convention at Khula Manch in Kathmandu on Sunday, Bhattarai said all political parties should come together around a shared goal and plan for national development.

“Let us make a plan now for where we want to take the country in the next 10 to 20 years and work together as all parties,” he said. “Otherwise, we will continue the practice of attending conventions and ceremonies, praising one another and then returning home.”

During his address, Bhattarai also praised the new generation within the Nepali Congress for taking the initiative for leadership and transformation with courage. He said the courage and ideas put forward by the new generation had sent a positive message to the country’s politics.
