Two absconding convicts arrested in Kanchanpur



KANCHANPUR: Police in Kanchanpur arrested two absconding convicts in separate cases and produced them before the District Court for the execution of their sentences on Friday.

A team from the District Police Office arrested Nareshram BK, who had been convicted in a polygamy case, and Kaushila Chand, who had been convicted in an illegal re-entry case.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Tek Bahadur Rawat, BK had been sentenced by the District Court on Ashar 20, 2082 BS to one year and three months in prison along with a fine of Rs 15,000. Chand had been fined Rs 5,000 under a court verdict issued on Mangsir 16, 2079 BS.

Both convicts have been presented before the District Court, Kanchanpur, for the implementation of the court’s verdicts, DSP Rawat said.
