Dhawal Shumsher Rana announces formation of new political party after quitting RPP

KATHMANDU: Dhawal Shumsher Rana has announced plans to form a new political party following his departure from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party.

Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Thursday, Rana said preparations were underway to launch a new political force.

Earlier this week, Rana had formally announced his resignation from the RPP, citing dissatisfaction with the party’s current direction and leadership.

Several RPP leaders and cadres have also left the party and joined the new political campaign initiated by Rana, according to organizers.

The announcement comes amid growing turmoil within the RPP, where a large number of leaders and members recently resigned, accusing the party leadership of weakening internal democracy, deviating from core ideological commitments, and failing to provide effective leadership.

Rana has yet to disclose the name, organizational structure, or policy platform of the proposed party, but further details are expected in the coming days.
