Terai likely to get hotter, hills likely to see rainfall



KATHMANDU: Weather conditions across the country are expected to remain mixed, with chances of rainfall in the Himalayan and hilly regions and a rise in temperatures in parts of the Terai, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

The Himalayan and hilly regions of Gandaki and Karnali provinces are generally cloudy, while other hilly areas are partly cloudy. Most of the Terai region remains mainly clear, although light rain has been recorded in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and at a few places in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Sudurpaschim Province.

According to the Division, this afternoon, the Division has forecast generally cloudy conditions in the Himalayan and hilly regions, and partly cloudy weather in the Terai.

Moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning is likely at some places in the mountains and hills, and at a few places in the Terai of Madhes and Koshi provinces. Temperatures are also expected to rise in the Terai areas of Madhes, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, generally cloudy conditions are expected in the Himalayan region, with partly cloudy weather in the hills and in the Terai areas of Madhes and Koshi, while the rest of the Terai is likely to remain mainly clear. Light rain or snowfall is possible at one or two places in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Bagmati, Koshi, and Madhes provinces, as well as in the Himalayan regions of Gandaki and Karnali.

The Division has also warned of the possibility of moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning in some mountainous and hilly areas, including parts of Lumbini and the Sudurpaschim Terai.

It has urged the public to remain cautious and stay updated with the latest weather forecasts, as rising temperatures are expected in the Terai regions of Madhes and Koshi provinces.
