RSP forms committee for merger with Balen and Ujyaalo Nepal Party

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has formed a committee to finalize the merger process with Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balendra Sah (Balen) and the Ujyaalo Nepal Party.

A party leader said the committee was formed under the leadership of RSP General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti. The seven-member committee will include two representatives from Balen’s group, two from the Ujyaalo Nepal Party, and two from the RSP.

Earlier, on December 28, 2025, RSP Chair Rabi Lamichhane and Balen signed an agreement to unify. The following day, the RSP signed a similar agreement with the Ujyaalo Nepal Party.

Although agreements have been reached, the integration has not yet been completed. The committee, led by General Secretary Burlakoti, will oversee and finalize the merger process.
