Pedestrian dies in road accident



NAWALPARASI: A pedestrian died after being hit by a truck at Gaindakot in Nawalpur district along the East–West Highway.

The victim, 82-year-old Yamnath Poudel of Gaindakot Municipality-5, was seriously injured when a truck (Ga 1 Kha 6605) struck him at Buddhamarg Chowk. He succumbed to his injuries this morning while undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur, according to Birendra Raj Gurung, Information Officer at the District Police Office.

Police have impounded the truck, and the driver has been taken into custody for further investigation.
