Rabi Lamichhane meets Indian Prime Minister Modi

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The two leaders held a meeting in the Indian capital, where they discussed matters of mutual interest. Details of the meeting were not immediately disclosed. Lamichhane is currently on a visit to India.

Meanwhile, in a post on social media, Prime Minister Modi expressed his pleasure at meeting the RSP chair.

“Delighted to meet the Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party of Nepal, Rabi Lamichhane. I welcome and fully share his desire to work closely together for a shared and prosperous future,” Modi wrote.

He further stated, “Nepal is a priority partner under our Neighbourhood First policy, and we look forward to collaborating with the new government to elevate the special and multifaceted relationship between our two countries to greater heights.”

The meeting comes amid ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between Nepal and India.
