Westerly wind influence persists, partial weather changes expected



KATHMANDU: The impact of the westerly wind system continues to affect the country, bringing partial weather changes in some areas, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The Division said the high hilly and mountainous regions will remain generally cloudy today, while other hilly areas are expected to have partly cloudy skies. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall at one or two places in the high hill and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.

In the Terai region, mist and fog are likely to prevail in many areas, the weather bulletin noted.

Similarly, tonight, the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces are expected to witness partly cloudy conditions, while the weather will remain mostly clear in the rest of the country.

The Division has also forecast a chance of light rain and snowfall at one or two locations in the high hill and mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces during the night.
