NC’s non-establishment faction holding meeting today

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC)’s non-establishment faction led by former NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba is being held today to discuss preparations for the party’s 15th General Convention.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 1 pm at the faction’s liaison office in Chundevi, Kathmandu. Secretariat Coordination Committee Coordinator Deepak Prasad Kuikel said the meeting will discuss three issues: preparations for the 15th General Convention, contemporary political developments, and miscellaneous matters.

According to Kuikel, office bearers and invited members of the Central Working Committee elected at the party’s 14th General Convention have been invited to attend the meeting.

Meanwhile, the establishment faction of the NC has already announced the date for the 15th General Convention. A recent meeting of the Nepali Congress Central Committee reaffirmed its earlier decision to hold the convention in Kathmandu from October 2 to 5, 2026.
