Rain and thunderstorms likely across parts of Nepal



KATHMANDU: Changing weather patterns across Nepal are expected to bring unsettled conditions today, with forecasts indicating rainfall, thunderstorms, and snowfall in several regions.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division, such conditions are likely in a few places in the Terai regions of Madhesh, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while parts of the Terai may see partial cloud cover.

Tonight, the weather will remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions, including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with partial cloudiness in the Terai.

There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain and snowfall with thunder, lightning, gusty winds, and hail in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in a few hilly and mountainous areas of Lumbini and Karnali. Isolated rainfall is also likely in other regions, the Division said.
