RSP central members to take oath today



KATHMANDU: The swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected central members of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is being held today.

According to RSP General Secretary Bipin Acharya, the oath-taking of the central members is scheduled for 11:00 am at the party headquarters in Banasthali, Kathmandu.

According to him, the oath of the party Chair was administered immediately after the election. The remaining elected central members and office-bearers will take their oath today, he said.

A total of 99 central members were elected from the party’s first general convention, which was held in Chitwan from June 21- 26.

The party has a provision to nominate the remaining 51 central members through the party president. Acharya said a central committee meeting will be convened to finalize the nominations of the remaining office-bearers and members.

The RSP central committee consists of 158 members, including one president, three vice-presidents, two general secretaries and five joint general secretaries.

The remaining office-bearers and central members will be nominated by party Chair Rabi Lamichhane.
