BP Highway blocked by landslide in Kavrepalanchok

KATHMANDU: Due to heavy rain, sections of the BP Highway in Kavrepalanchok have been blocked as boulders and rocks fell onto the road.

The affected areas include Chaukidanda in Namobuddha Municipality-6, and several points in Roshi Rural Municipality, including Charsai Bensi (Roshi-7), Biruwadanda (Ward-9), Boksekuna, Narke, and Dalabensi (Ward-11). Both lanes of the highway are currently impassable. DSP Rabin Bista of the District Police Office said efforts are underway to clear the road.

To prevent accidents, the local administration had prohibited vehicle movement, except for ambulances and essential services, on the Kavre Bhanjyang–Bhakunde Bensi–Sindhuli stretch of the BP Highway from Thursday 5 PM to Friday 6 AM.
