Gold, silver prices go up

KATHMANDU: The price of gold and silver increased in Nepal on Friday, following global market trends. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Traders’ Association, gold rose by NPR 2,700 per tola, reaching Rs 239,000 per tola, up from Rs 236,300.

Similarly, silver gained Rs80 per tola, climbing to Rs3,060 per tola from Rs 2,980.

The price hike is attributed to rising international market rates. Additionally, the U.S. Federal Reserve’s recent 0.25% interest rate cut has exerted upward pressure on precious metal prices.
