Gaura festival highlights women’s power, dedication, and faith in culture: Deuba



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the Gaura festival highlights women’s power, dedication, devotion, and faith in culture.

Extending his best wishes on the occasion of the Gaura festival today, President Deuba said the festival—celebrated with great enthusiasm and vigor, especially in the Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces of Nepal—has left a deep cultural mark on people’s lives and created a unique identity.

“Our Nepali society, which is full of diverse cultural and religious traditions, has many unique customs and traditions to be proud of,” Deuba said, noting that Gaura Parva is not just a religious ritual but also the foundation of social unity, reconciliation, mutual harmony, and cultural preservation.

He expressed his best wishes on the occasion of the Gaura festival, hoping that it may inspire everyone to create an atmosphere of happiness, peace, and prosperity for all Nepalis living at home and abroad.
