Six arrested with illegal drugs in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested six individuals involved in the illegal drug trade from various locations in Kathmandu.

According to authorities, five individuals were caught with 600 Nitrazepam (Nitravet) tablets in Gokarneshwor Municipality-2, Namgyal Road, while one person was arrested with brown heroin in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26, Samamukhi area.

The arrested individuals have been publicly identified as Saroj Shahi (25) from Kalikot, Surya Lama (24) from Sindhupalchok, Bimal Magar (33) from Kavrepalanchok, Ashish BK (34) from Kaski, Manbir Gurung (30) from Kaski, and Shankar Rajbanshi (33) from Jhapa.

According to Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Chand of Kathmandu Police, 109.22 grams of brown heroin, one digital scale, nine mobile phones, and Rs. 82,635 in cash were recovered from Rajbanshi’s possession.
