UN Resident Coordinator meets Home Minister



KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak held a meeting with United Nations Resident Coordinator Hanaa Singer-Hamdy at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Singha Durbar on Thursday.

During the meeting, Singer-Hamdy expressed interest in the work being carried out through the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) to conclude the remaining tasks of Nepal’s peace process. She reiterated the UN’s commitment to supporting Nepal in both advancing transitional justice and strengthening disaster management.

Minister Lekhak highlighted the government’s active engagement in bringing the peace process to a conclusion through the TRC and acknowledged the UN’s continuous assistance in disaster management. He also requested continued cooperation and support from the UN in the days ahead.
