Task force formed to resolve Solukhumbu–Okhaldhunga border dispute

SOLUKHUMBU: A six-member task force has been formed to resolve a longstanding border dispute between Solukhumbu and Okhaldhunga districts. The task force has been directed to submit its report within 15 days.

A joint meeting of the security committees of both districts, held today at the District Administration Office, established the task force under the coordination of Okhaldhunga’s Assistant Chief District Officer, Goma Devi Paudel.

The task force includes Land Revenue Officer Nir Kumar Dhungana and Survey Officer Sabin BK from Okhaldhunga, and Survey Officer Pramod Guragai and Land Revenue Officer Bidhesh Khanal from Solukhumbu.

The dispute centers around the Tolugumba Bulbule area, located at the border of Khijidemba Rural Municipality–9 in Okhaldhunga and parts of Solukhumbu. Although the area was marked as part of Okhaldhunga in 2043 BS, disagreements with Solukhumbu have persisted.

The meeting was attended by Solukhumbu Chief District Officer Anoj Kumar Ghimire, Okhaldhunga CDO Bijay Raj Subedi, and members of the security committees from both districts.
