Nepal takes on Scotland A in second practice match ahead of ICC World Cup League 2

KATHMANDU: The Nepal national cricket team is set to play its second practice one-day match against Scotland A today as part of its preparation for the upcoming ICC World Cup League 2 series.

The match will take place at the Forfarshire Cricket Club in Scotland and is scheduled to begin at 3:45 pm Nepali time.

Nepal had faced a heavy defeat in the first practice match earlier this week, losing by 102 runs. With the League 2 tournament fast approaching, the team is aiming to gain confidence and momentum through a strong performance in today’s match.

The Scotland A squad features several players who have already represented the senior national team. Notably, captain Christopher McBride delivered a strong performance in the previous match and is expected to play a key role again.

Before arriving in Scotland, Nepal toured the UK and remained unbeaten in a series of practice matches against various county teams, showing encouraging form and depth. However, the loss in the first game against Scotland A has raised concerns that the team is hoping to address quickly.

Nepal’s ICC World Cup League 2 campaign will begin on June 2 with a match against Scotland. They will then face the Netherlands on June 4, before taking on both teams again on June 8 and June 10 respectively.

With Nepal currently placed at the bottom of the League 2 table among eight teams, the upcoming matches are crucial for their qualification hopes and international standing.
