Eid ul-Fitr strengthens harmony and brotherhood: Speaker Ghimire

KATHMANDU: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has extended his best wishes on the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr, expressing hope that the festival will foster harmony, peace, stability, and mutual understanding among all Nepalis.

In a message issued today, Speaker Ghimire conveyed his warm greetings to the Nepali Muslim community, emphasizing that such celebrations play a vital role in strengthening unity, reconciliation, and religious tolerance.

“May this great festival, observed after a month of fasting, spiritual reflection, self-restraint, and acts of charity during Ramadan, bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to all,” the message reads.

“I am confident that Eid will further unite Nepalis, reinforcing a strong sense of national unity through mutual harmony and brotherhood.”

Eid ul-Fitr holds great significance for the Muslim community, promoting values of love, charity, social support, and spiritual devotion. Its tradition of fostering communal ties makes the festival even more meaningful.

“Nepal is a nation rich in ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity. The Constitution of Nepal upholds religious freedom and respects all faiths, cultures, and traditions,” the message highlights.

“This constitutional system ensures that every citizen has the right to express their religious and cultural identity freely.”
