Westerly winds affecting Nepal’s weather

KATHMANDU: The country is currently experiencing a partial effect of the westerly winds.

As of Monday morning, the weather remains partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the rest of the country enjoys mainly clear skies, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

There is a possibility of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in one or two locations within the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces today, it said.

Additionally, light snowfall is expected in a few high hilly and mountainous areas across the country, as stated in the Division’s weather bulletin.

The Division has advised the public to take necessary precautions, as rain and snowfall, along with thunder and lightning, may have a partial impact on daily life, agriculture, health, and both road and air transport.
