Madhesh-centric parties to hold meeting today



KATHMANDU: A task force composed of eight Madhesh-centric parties, both ruling and opposition, is set to begin its activities today. The task force is scheduled to hold two programs on Friday.

On Friday morning, the task force will visit injured soldiers in Mukkumalung, where many people were injured during a shooting incident in the cable car dispute in the Mukkumalung Pathibhara area of Taplejung on Saturday evening.

Some of the injured are receiving treatment at the Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, and a visit is planned at 10:30 a.m. to meet with them.

Additionally, the task force will hold a meeting later today, Thursday, at 3 p.m. at the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) Nepal’s parliamentary party office.

The meeting will be attended by leaders of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), Janamat Party, JSP Nepal, Nagarik Unmukti Party, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, Rastriya Mukti Party Nepal, Janata Pragatisheel, and Terai Madesh Loktantrik Party.

The task force aims to develop a concept, agenda, modalities, and code of conduct, along with a vision for the overall political situation.

The task force will submit a report to the top leaders, according to member Keshav Jha.
