National unity needed to save the nation: Prachanda

POKHARA: Co-ordinator of the Nepali Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has said the country is facing a serious national crisis and must be freed from it.

Addressing a unity assembly held in Chipledhunga, Pokhara, he stated that Nepal’s national sovereignty and security are weakening, making it essential for all patriots, leftists, and communist forces to unite.

Questioning what the people gained from the “two-thirds majority” governments of the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, Prachanda remarked that their leadership has pushed the nation into crisis.

“We saw the nation almost fall into a trap. When we tried to fight corruption while in government, we were removed. We were not allowed to act against corruption or defend national sovereignty. We did not have enough strength at that time,” he said.
