RSP and Bibeksheel Sajha merge, party name to remain RSP



KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Bibeksheel Sajha Party have announced their merger today.

The announcement was made at a program held at the Rastriya Sabha Griha, Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu, following an agreement reached between the two parties a few days earlier.

With the merger of RSP, led by Rabi Lamichhane, and Bibeksheel Sajha, led by Samikshya Baskota, the party’s name will remain RSP. Vice Chair Swarnim Wagle stated that, as per the agreement, the full name will be Rastriya Swatantra Party.

The memorandum of understanding for the merger was signed by Acting Chair Dol Prasad Acharya and Vice Chair Dr. Swarnim Wagle on behalf of the RSP, and by President Samikshya Baskota and Vice President Prakash Chandra Pariyar on behalf of Bibeksheel Sajha.

The party symbol will continue to be the ‘Bell’, as agreed by the leaders of both parties, Wagle added.
