Floods in Lhende River cause damage in Rasuwa

RASUWA: Heavy rainfall in Tibet has triggered flooding in the Lhende River, causing significant damage in various parts of Rasuwa.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), the flood in Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-2 has swept away the Dharmakata (weighbridge) at the customs yard in Timure.

“Around 2 a.m., the water flow from China surged into the Lhende River in Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-2, leading to flooding that washed away the weighbridge at the customs yard in Timure,” the authority stated.

As water levels remain high, residents along the banks of the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and surrounding areas have been advised to remain alert. The Authority has also urged people to avoid fishing or collecting firewood swept away by the floodwaters.
