NEPSE inches up by 9.19 points



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 9.19 points on Monday, closing at 2,631.48 points, marking a 0.35 percent increase from the previous trading day.

A total of 14,172,535 shares worth approximately Rs 6.38 billion were traded throughout the day. T

he market saw the share prices of 145 companies go up, while 103 companies witnessed a decline. No company’s share price remained unchanged.

Altogether, 318 companies were involved in 63,371 transactions on Monday. Among the 13 trading subgroups, nine closed in the green while four ended in the red.

The manufacturing and processing sector posted the highest gain, up by 1.63 percent, while the investment group rose the least, gaining only 0.02 percent. On the other hand, the ‘Others’ subgroup saw the biggest loss, dropping by 0.36 percent, followed by the hotel and tourism sector, which fell by a marginal 0.03 percent.
