NC central working committee meeting to begin today

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting is being held today (Monday) at the party’s central office in Sanepa. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 1 PM, according to Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel.

The office bearers’ meeting on Sunday finalized six key agenda items for discussion in today’s session.

According to party spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, the meeting will primarily focus on matters related to the coalition government and party-affiliated sister organizations.

The terms of seven such organizations expired in March, and discussions will be held on whether to extend the term of their ad hoc committees, as several have not yet held their general conventions.

General Secretary Gagan Thapa will provide an update on the distribution of active membership. The Thapa-led Active Membership Management Committee has set a deadline of mid-Ashar (June end) for the renewal process.

Other agenda items include the presentation of a working paper on the party’s 100-day campaign, as well as updates on the activities of ministers representing the party in both federal and provincial governments.
