BIRATNAGAR: Preparations have been finalized for the Koshi Province Investment Summit, organized by the provincial government.
The details were shared during a press conference held by the Province Investment Authority today.
The Summit will take place at the Birendra Auditorium in Biratnagar. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to inaugurate the event on Thursday, with the two-day conference concluding on Friday.
Organizers are optimistic that the summit will be a historic and productive step toward the prosperity and development of Koshi Province, which holds significant investment potential.
According to the Authority’s Executive Director Dr. Saroj Koirala, a total of 71 projects will be showcased at the summit, with a combined estimated investment requirement of Rs 173.49 billion.
These projects span key sectors including tourism, agriculture, industry, energy, infrastructure, information technology, and services.
Dr. Koirala also stated that the summit will feature discussions on six thematic areas: agriculture, tourism, industrial production, marketing, infrastructure development, energy, and healthcare and medical education.
Investors from Nepal, India, China, Russia, the United States, South Korea, and various Western nations are expected to participate in the event.
Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Rewati Raman Bhandari remarked that the summit will contribute to employment generation and mobilization of domestic capital in the province. He also pledged to amend any laws that may hinder investment.
Similarly, Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Ram Bahadur Magar said the summit will support the province’s economic growth, create jobs, and help develop key sectors to attract tourism and increase production.
