Nine arrested for looting cosmetics, liquor from Bhatbhateni

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has arrested nine individuals involved in looting Bhatbhateni Superstore in Koteshwor during Friday’s royalist protests.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, the suspects looted various items, including liquor, cosmetics, and clothing.

Ashish Tamang from Dhanusha stole Black Label and Jack Daniel’s whiskey, while Prem Kumar Mahato from Sarlahi looted beer.

Rabi Ranjan Kumar from India took Yarchagumba-branded liquor.

Sushila Kumal from Nuwakot stole half-pants and trousers. Elisa Rai from Sunsari and Balkumari Karki from Koteshwor were caught for stealing crates and trays. Nirmala Karki from Sindhupalchok was involved in stealing fruits.

Chitramaya Basnet and Sushmita Baral from Koteshwor were arrested for stealing lipstick and kajal from the store’s ground floor.

The police have been using CCTV footage and social media videos to identify and track down those involved in the looting.
