UML’s proportional representation list includes Vice Chair Badal, Komal Wali to Santa Bahadur Chepang



KATHMANDU: The Communist Party of Nepal (UML) has submitted its closed list of proportional representation candidates to the Election Commission for the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.

A team led by UML central committee member and head of the party’s Election Department, Niraj Acharya, submitted the list at the Election Commission office in Kantipath.

From the senior generation, the list includes Vice Chair Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, leader Guru Baral, and Dr Pushpa Kandel, among others.

From the women’s category, Secretary Padma Aryal and leaders Tuka Hamal, Nirudevi Pal, Komal Wali, Shanta Chaudhary, and Bhumika Subba have been included.

Under the backward regions category, eight candidates, including Gorakh Bogati, Lal Bahadur Mahatara, and Lal Bahadur Rawal, have been listed. The list also includes representation of persons with disabilities.

From the younger generation, the list features Meena Baram, Mankumari Titung, Mayadevi Podeni, Nirmal Daula, Rampukar Das Tatma, Santa Bahadur Chepang, and Ichha Chaudhary. Youth leaders Kranti Burlakoti and Anita Kandwal have also been included.

From the Muslim community, the list includes Sajida Siddiqui and Mohammad Haroon, among others.
